No concrete details have arisen from the rumor mill about the Avalanches highly anticipated follow up to 2001's Since I left You - their first and only full length album -- but based on the status of their website, which has recently been revamped after years of inactivity, and a recent interview with their Label boss, Stephen Pavlovic, it's looking like the new album may actually see the light of day in late 2011 or early 2012... but, then again, we've been duped before... Fortunately, the good people at Modular Records have announced that the label is prepping a special 2-disc deluxe reissue to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the landmark debut album. While no release date has been set, they have given us a list of awesome things to expect: Unreleased early B-sides and demo tracks, remixes from El Guincho, MF Doom, Black Dice, and Jackson and his Computer Band, along with Avalanches remixes of other artists, and more. While you wait, here's an older remix of the title track from StereoLab!
